Heavy Rain Means Wet Basement

The heavy rains that rolled through northwest Iowa recently left many basements with water damage such as this homeowner who saw water in much of their basement.  

Our team was called in to extract the excess water and was forced to tear up the carpets in order to properly dry the basement.  If flooring and drywall are not properly dried in an adequate time frame mold can begin to grow.  At times the color of the carpet can mask the visible mold growth but not the odor, white crusty spots on the carpet can contain mold spores.
