Prolonged Exposure to Water Proves Costly

This homeowner experienced water damage in their basement.  Due to the prolonged exposure their finished basement required some materials to be demolished and replaced.  As you can see in the photo's, the wood trim and doors soaked up the water and without proper drying the woodwork began to grow mold.  

After initial water damage, if the materials the water has come in contact with are not cleaned in a proper time frame it can lead to mold spores beginning to grow.  Each case is different, some materials can be restores while others must be replaced.  Time can be the determining factor when it comes to the question of throw or salvage.
